MultiSecurity’s crime reports for the period from 21 September to 10 October once again show a drop in break-ins and other incidents of crime, although their regular patrols have reported an alarming number of gates, doors, security gates and windows left open by residents all over Port Alfred.

On Saturday 23 September a person was apparently assaulted at Heritage Mall and forced to withdraw R300 from the ATM, and in the early afternoon of the same day, a motor vehicle parked outside a business in Keey St was broken into and a security beam ripped off the wall. A window of the premises was also forced open, but the burglar bars prevented entry.

There was a break-in at a home in Becker St on 3 October and on 7 October a break-in was reported at a home in Van der Riet St, where a side-door was broken open and a ‘booster’ stolen.
